FIT4JOBS project partners met in Amsterdam

Third FIT4JOBS project partners’ meeting took place in Amsterdam on the 4-5th March 2016. Partners gathered to review each country activities and discuss piloting results. Open discussion invited partners to share their experiences and to give recommendations that could later improve the project.

European Get Online Week 2016 to boost youth employability

European Get Online Week (GOW) is an annual digital empowerment campaign led by Fit4Jobs project partner Telecentre Europe. Supported by Liberty Global and Cisco, the campaign will encourage Europeans to use the Internet and technology safely and with confidence, improving their digital skills and job opportunities. European GOW will mark its seventh edition this year on 14-20 March.

Fit4jobs is a successful tool for recruiters

LIKTA in cooperation with the Ltd. Lattelecom Call Center successfully trained a group of young people and got them on internships in the city of Liepaja. One of the success factors was a close collaboration with the employer from the start and the employer’s involvement in all stages of the Fit4jobs training. Fit4jobs tests have proved to be an excellent start and a successful tool for recruiters because different skill sets can be assessed.

Fit4jobs participants in Lithuania exceed employers’ expectations

Fit4jobs participants in Lithuania have concluded their ICT training. All participants have had an opportunity to do internships in different Lithuanian companies as part of the project. Many project participants have met or even exceeded expectations of potential employers and were offered permanent employment contracts. 23 project trainees have started working in different companies after the Fit4jobs training.

75% of Spanish Fit4JOBS trainees find employment in Spain

The Spanish FIT4Jobs pilot trained 40 young people in digital skills, teaching them the basics of Java programming, database management and soft skills for job search and teamwork. After the programme ended, 30 out of 40 trainees signed a indefinite contract with the project’s main employer in Spain, the multinational EVERIS, a company committed to to the pilot since the very beginning.
