During the Get Online Week 2016 youth in Latvia had a chance to evaluate their digital and computer skills by completing Fit4Jobs tests. The test has been created within the framework of the Fit4Jobs project to assess computer office and productivity skills that every employee should have and that are requested by almost all employers.
The test includes questions about the use of office software such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
151 participants completed the test during the Get Online Week 2016, mostly youth aged 11-19 years. As always, girls were more active in Latvia making 57% of test takers compared to 42% of boys. The average result of all participants was 76% which is close to the passing score (80%). So there is still some room for improving basic computer skills.
The highest result–100% correct answers–was scored by 4 participants who were all girls aged 13-19 and coming from Latvia’s regional cities (Jekabpils, Salaspils, Kuldiga and Preili). They all received prizes: a portable audio speaker for a mobile phone.
